Self-Portrait Challenge - Day 21

International Welcome.

"Surf City", USA (Huntington Beach, California) welcomes all surfing nations. These surfboards and bodyboards represent various surfing nations. They are made of stone (granite, I believe) and are on permanent display on the beach. There are more "flags" (countries represented) but would not fit in the frame of this capture.

Loving this. I have some heartstrings attached to Huntington Beach, so this is great.

Thanks for the comments! A fisheye wouldn't work in this case. The building is octagonal in shape and the boards are along each side. NHBFC = North Huntington Beach Fútbol Club (a local club soccer team).

Great idea man! Great colours! Great texture! I would have prefered you maybe off to one side in front of one of the body boards I think. :) Cool!

I don't know about this one mister! You cut out Brazil... and that's the most important one of course.

I never noticed how sparkly those were before...

This might have been cool later in the day with some long shadows.

That's a great shot. Really like the detail and composition. Looks a little weird that your hair blends into your jacket.

Those surfboards look like they are painted on the wall. It's very cool that the city put all of those up :) Love the way you chose to do this one! It would also have worked with you facing the camera and the camera further away or capturing the boards at an angle so they got smaller going toward you and you were the tiny guy near the last one. Okay, I am shutting up. GREAT SHOT!
