I decided to make a redo of a classic: the chess shot.

Borrowed a chess board from a friend, shot this on a red satin sheets with the same sheets as a background. The squares on the board looks red because in fact they are transparent. I then proceeded put my unbrella and one of my sigme 500DG super on the left slightly behind the pieces and a big mirror on the right to get a more even an pleasant lighting. I used my other flash on my camera and set it up not to appear in the shot but just to trigger the one on the umbrella. Converted in RAW, resized, sharpenned, added border (Thank you very much IDNIC!!!) and here it is!!!

I sure hope that one do well but who knows.

The white on red works really well however I feel the DOF is a little too shallow. I'd like to see a little more detail in the background knight.
