I have tried for 3 years to shoot this Waterfall with ice. I had not been happy with what I got untill this image. Where I live we do not get cold enough temperatures to get a decent freeze like this very often. Multnomah Falls is the second highest waterfall in the United States at 620 feet. I used a Circular Polarizer and a 3 stop graduated neutral density filter. I converted it to a toned black and white image using a technique that Greg Gorman showed me. I just love the tonalities this technique brings out.

Needs a major rotate clockwise... or taken from a different perspective to straighten out the bridge visually.

Very tough to concentrate on one part of this shot, with it all being in focus. My eye is lost, not drawn anywhere. It's abit overpowering for me.

The silky water is lovely. The horizon looks askew due to bridge tilting left.

I like Multnomah Falls... does not freeze over there often. Interesting textured, toned image.

Very nice. I'm surprised at the amount of water this time of year. Is that normal?

Oh, I LOVE those falls! They are so majestic. Seeing this brings back wonderful memories of being there -- except I went in the fall. I've never seen a photo of them in winter -- and the sepia treatment is BEAUTIFUL! FANTASTIC PHOTO!!!
