yes i see wot you mean about synchronistic decisions .. lets hope that in the next few challenges we can actually think like the voters ... i get it wrong most of the time ...
i wasnt even going to enter the photo that i got my personal best in, but i'd put it in my portfolio and judy  jutilda left comment saying it'd go well in patterns .. i took it out straight away and submitted it .. all in the space of about half an hour!! ...
i think that a lot of photos i take, and dont even consider putting in challenges, would get blue ribbons .. lol lol lol ...... :)
my shallow dof and free study are both sitting around 5.6000 ish .. and i thought they'd go real well ... i got that wrong ..
however ... i've put one in the bad challenge and i'm gonna get blue for sure!!!!!!! lol lol lol .. :)

| I was unsure what was going on with this shot; the image on the right (Hendrix?) detracts from the minimalism for me, and turns it into a different kind of shot; the diagonal on the right distracted me from the main subject(s) here. |
