Greets from the Critique Club
Hi Justin,
This is a clever idea and the photograph is well executed. I think the crop may be a bit harsh, cutting off his chin and the top of his head doesn't work well. Maybe just a bit more space in either direction would have helped? Other than that I can't offer much criticism. The picture seemed to score fairly well with the voters.
I will say that the picture size is rather small, both in physical size and memory usage. DPC allows a picture size of 640x640 pixels and memory size of up to 150k. I highly encourage you to use all of that, as that really shows your photograph in its best light.

This is cute, you know he actually favors the little boy in the movie. |

whille it is a cute/funny photo of a kid's face, I don't think the title works - yes there are pictures from the movie of Jack Nicholson like this but...On its own the pic has some merit. The facial expression makes the viewer curious "what is going on?" pretty sharp, decent composition, I'd like to see more a tiny more space below the chin |

Composition is very interesting. The look on the boys face is great. He almost looks maddening just like in the book. The closeup wide angler shot works perfectly with the title. Great job. "10" |

lol...this scene was in the movie, not in the book. Also, I think the actor who played Jack was a little older than your model :) love the shot anyway |

it's spelled Shining, not Shinning. and this is more about the content of the story, not an interpretation of the book title as the challenge required. |
