Looks like a lead rope for my horse, shot in a very artistic way. Nice lighting.

Yea - good job bill. I'm in agreement with what Germaine's had to say... but want to add that the final result is still appealing. On the practical side, I think fill-flash would have made the difference here.

I love this, as it is such a dramatic, yet also quite soft shot as well.
The balance between the two is very good.....
I actually don't mind the shadows as I think that is what softens it somewhat.

Interesting subject matter and good b&w processing. IMNSHO, you could stand a little more light on the left side of the picture -- you're losing a lot of interesting rope texture in the shadow. Also, IMNSHO you could cut some of the bottom off the picture. The rope is in the shadow and you can't see it that well. I think a closer crop would give the knot itself more oomph. My opinion is worth what you are paying for it. 8) Good work and thanks for sharing.
