Challenge: Fill the Frame II (Expert Editing*)
Camera: Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z10
Date: Jan 24, 2007
Galleries: Animals, Digital Art
Date Uploaded: Jan 24, 2007

I read the challenge details.. but apparently when I was taking photos and processing I forgot it said NOTHING but the subject. (I was thinking more of the subject is present in the entire photo, and my subject is the two cats. But this isn't "interpreting the challenge creatively" - it was purely me being oblivious.) I tried to crop it tighter but it very much did not work.

---- Okay, I found a way to crop it that it works much better. I don't like the image as much but I think it fits the challenge more.

The original submission (which I like so much more) is here:

Challenge requirements aside: I agree, I love the original much better. The crop you have for the challenge takes away from the fun lines and scene. Since most people would have just put in a DNMC vote anyways, I would have just left the orignal.

I like the post you did on the orginal, it gives it a sort a strange quirk that would be missing otherwise. Not sure how you did it but it is great. It really brings out textures and lines that would have otherwised been lost. It is a fun picture, but obviously an entry that would fail to garner high votes due to the radical change and the DNMC. Keep it up though, wonderful stuff.

I was one of your higher votes in this challenge (7), and would have given the original an 8 or 9. In fact, I think the original is a real piece of artwork. I love it. The composition is outstanding.

I was going to do a reflection for this challenge, and then I figured exactly what you said in your comments - too many people would pound on the idea.

Different, but I can't say I like the effect.

The post processing doesn't really do much for me. Also, DNMC.

Cute kitties! But I'm not too excited about your choice of filter medians. It's very abstract and that's cool....but it doesn't fill the frame as well as some of the other entries out there.

Well, too much expert editing for me.. When you first look at this, the front cat's face gets lost.I have to stare at it for a few minutes before my eyes focus on it.. Nice try though, keep it up for the next challenge. :-)
