I'm going to have to favorite you after seeing this. It took my breath away. It somehow evokes a deep emotion. I can't explain it. I wish you could have used a lower ISO (just to get rid of some of that noise in the flooring), but otherwise the lighting and mood is just right in my book. I could stare for hours. Thank you! |

A little more light would have been good; yet it is still a really good photo. |

I have searched through the challenge for those entries where the negative space is more than just a plain black or white backdrop because, whilst I think that technique often makes for some really strong and high impact images, I̢۪m particularly drawn to entries where the negative space is relevant to the subject itself and actually contributes to the impact of the picture in a contextual as well as purely compositional way.
Lovely little detail portrait which is actually rather poignant. The simple, wall and floorboards are a really nice and homely setting for the ballet slippers. I’m not a smoothness freak at all – I actually like noise – but it seems rather excessive here. Also lighting is a little too uneven left to right, I find. |

Too bad the lighting is poor and the focus is weak on the shoes...this would have been the best pic in this challenge...love the idea |

Good composition and idea. Lighting on the foreground could be stronger, and it's not quite sharp. |

Too dark ... lighting leaves a nasty shadow on the right side. |

I like the idea of this very much. I think I would have panned back and even made the slippers smaller in the shot. |
