Is it minimalist? Maybe, but something about the composition puts me off a bit. Not sure what exactly, but maybe if you played around with this set-up a bit more you'd nail it. (portrait orientation maybe?)

Good focus, dof and strong colours. Could have cropped a little more, to get rid of the nose and the other eye's shadow.
