i think this would have scored higher if cropped a bit tighter to the trees and punched the exposure a bit. i like the idea.

Composition is pretty nice although cropping the bottom might help a bit as mentioned. Also maybe a bit looser crop on the right, to include all of the branches on the rightmost tree. Definitely adjusting the contrast would help a ton. First it is normally not so great to see so much gray in a picture, and secondly you want to get brighter tones to emphasize the white "snow-ness" of the image.

Hi Deb - nice idea! One suggestion for you to try if you want to keep this pic for your own use... I'd crop off some of the bottom, to cut out some of the grass and maybe even the path. And then play with contrast - you need to bring out some brightness in the pic to play against the darker color of the trees. Try it and I think you'll be surprised at how different the pic looks. Keep 'em coming!

It's a very grey and bland picture. It's also a big stretch for entrance.

It looks interesting but the tones are dull. Maybe some more contrast would be necessary...

I sense there was a desire to come up with a beautiful photo, a nice landscape covered in snow. But then the title is sounds like a journalistic caption. These two things hurt each other. And none of them helps make the photo meet the challenge. Not that I care much about meeting the challenge, but I feel that you do.

And, yes, I think the house hidden there in the centre of the photo could add so much, but you decided not to include it, by hiding it behind the trees.

I think the composition is a bit boring but the mood in the picture is great1
