 Santuary knocker on the door of Durham Cathedral,of which it was said that if any wrongdoer's managed to knock and gain entry, they would be given sanctuary and safe passage out of the county

I think if the pillers on the Right side are cropped out this would make a better photograph. The Light shades on them draws ones eyes away from a unique Doorway.

Seems out of level. Good depth of field, and sharpness. It seems quite an "unfancy" portal to be surrounded by such classy columns.

Durham Cathedral...I know this place! Weird angle which somehow adds to the notion of claiming sanctuary. Great topic for the challenge.
