The Franklin Institute will be showing the King Tut Exhibition starting....well it's in the picture.

I saw a picture of this in one of the free local papers and said...Hmmmm.....Now if I can just get me there. Well really it's not like it is so far away....about 4 blocks from work. BUT getting there in the morning when the light is best on that side of the street is a problem for me.

I had called Bev to see if we could get to Tinicum Marsh (AKA: John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge) to try to do something for a wildlife picture. She said OK and we made arrangements to go this past Saturday AM....had to go there and have some time to shoot and get back to town for a 1:00 PM voice lesson. I did not know about the Tut picture on the steps at that point. I found out in between the call and going. Bev called on Saturday AM and said she was on her way and then I asked if we could go to the Franklin first. "No Problem...I know where that is". So we went.

There is a little park across the street from the Franklin and I thought shooting there would be no problem and give a good POV. So we get there and the entire park is fenced in for repairs or what not. To make matters worse, the fence across from the museum was extended past the sidewalk on to the street. It looked a bit dicey but driving by I could see that the fence position in the lane in which it was located was on a good enough diagonal so as to cut the lane off from traffic. So we drove around the block and Bev parked at the end of the block across the street from the park. I crossed the street and looked around for traffic and got to a position about center from the entrance and shot away.

I took about 3 dozen shots with and without people on the steps. The small group by the entrance doors center never left. People walked by and towards the end of the shooting this family of four came and walked up the steps. They sort of obscure the Tut picture painted on the steps but not enough to bother me and I like the scale the present. So here it is.

Oh...it was cold Saturday and very partially cloudy. We did go to Tinicum. Saw nothing that moved. Animals apparently have a lot more sense than photographers. No wildlife shot. Oh well.

Oh....and THANKS, BEV!!!!

PS: Dali and Tut will be coming as soon as Judy, Dali and I get to it. Tentatively titled 'Eyes on Dali'! LOL! Can't wait!

This is my favourite, gotta love those stairs!

The steps reminded me so much of Robert's photos of Dali's picture on the stairs that I had to go check and see where The Franklin was. Sure enough, Philadelphia. So I am guessing this is your's, Rob, good luck and I hope this wins a ribbon!

I think this will do well. Great graphic design idea on the steps. Good timing with the people on the steps for this image. The red jackets draw attention to the people, and the size of the staircase.

Did you overlay the picture of Tut or did they actually paint that on the stairs? Either way, very cool.

Nice. The first place my eyes went is to the family, then naturally went up the stairs to the entrance and King Tut sign. It's cool that you were able to get one family isolated on those steps. Good luck in the challenge.
