 Yep, I know the lighting is harsh but I only had one chance to take photos this week and it happened to be about 1 hour before the challenge deadline, which in this part of the world is afternoon - So I took 3 photos, two of which were blury. this one at least was pretty sharp.
this just proves how important lighting is in photography. If this was taken a few hours later with some nice gentle light it would have scored pretty well.

nice try. Blown highlights spoil it. Lighting is everything, play with exposure compensation when shooting birds.

Little more work with the light and darkness would help this. The face is blown out a bit, more contrast would help too, then maybe a little more saturation to bring out the water a tad.

He looks like he's waterskiing! Very nice capture. Lighting was a bit harsh at this time of day, though.
