The bear was waking up for a snack this afternoon. I had to raise the camera on the tripod above some brush to get this shot that would have been blurry in the foreground. I just moved the camera and shot until I had the bear in the center of the frame. Then, just waited and shot as it moved its head around while eating. It was a partly sunny day and the light was right as the sun passed behind the clouds.

This is a great shot. The only reason I think it didn't do better is because people didn't think it was wild enough. Which is a bit silly since I can't see anything in the evironment except perhaps his snack that could be seen as man made.

Very nicely composed within the frame. Good eye contact with your subject, and a good thing he has food, or you might start looking rather yummy to him.

I like the blurred backround and the focus on the bear's face.

What a fantastic creature! Nice focus on the face. It looks natural too, but will be interesting to see if it was in the wild. Braver person than I if it was!

Looks like he's eating a ham sandwich! LOL. Great exposure/control of the dynamic range, with excellent detail in the face/fur while not clipping details in other areas. Nicely composed/cropped as well.

This bear should be asleep this time of year or must be a zoo shot?
