300mm on a full frame? Damn, you must've been pretty close! Unless this is a heavy crop, in which case, damn, the 5D is a slick camera!

too bad about the branch. Not a bad one considering I hate birds backs as photos. There's definite loss of detail in the feathers. Almost a great image.

Wow! Did you get a shiver when you saw that stare? I did :) Nice catch. They do add to the depth but the trees in the foreground are a bit distracting. None the less, great shot. 8

Favorite bald eagle shot in the challenge. Only nitpick is that little bit of branch over the tail feathers but I am sure it couldn't be helped.
