 So I wanted to make this look like my spirit leaving my body(another self portrat), and I hope thats how it came across!

I just used an extremely slow shutter speed to do this. During editing:

cropped
clairified
ajusted saturation
sharpened
edge preserving
saved for web

Hope you guys like this!

A bit too dark to be truly effective. I have a (too) bright monitor, so I can see what you were doing with this, but just barely.

Nice idea, but I prefer the ethereal glow on the "soul" that one of the other similar entries achieved.

good idea, perhaps a bit too much dark. the only perplexity is that even the spirit is dressed but is only a detail. 8

Nice and spooky :-) I like the low lighting and sense of movement. I do think the composition would be stronger with a little more negative space on right-hand side of head.

Good idea and concept but the image is too under exposed for my taste. With a little work on the contrast and curves this could be improved dramatically. As I said though, this was a really good idea
