Challenge: Motion Panning II (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Lens: Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM
Location: Camas Wa.
Date: Jan 16, 2007
Aperture: 3.2
ISO: 100
Shutter: 0.5
Date Uploaded: Jan 16, 2007

Its 28c outside with about 4 inches of snow in our area. Using the 2nd curtin flash to get this effect. Had to pan just right to get the lights to streak. Not your typical motion blur shot. We'll see????

I love the colours and the streaks of light

i get the panning, but think you would have been better served shooting somewhere with a bit more light. this just comes off a bit too streaky for me, and not that interesting, visually.

Looks more like a static shot with a long exposure and flash than panning.

I think the challenge was to have something in focus that you panned with and the background be blurred..nice image, low score.

Now that is panning, no lack of motion in this shot, I like the flash sync to to project the lights backwards.. well done..

Complete loss of stop motion probably due to too long an exposure.

I see you're using 2nd curtain sync on your flash. It might be better to use the 1st curtain sync instead. Neat effect though. I'd rather see motion panning, so I can't give you top scores.

this does not look like motion panning, also the choice of subject is pretty dull

Was this actual panning or just a slow shutter, or some kind of combination of the two?

Shutter speed to slow to capture the suject, no clarity..

The loooong light trails suggest that this isn't the best example of motion panning. Especially with the indistinct background/foreground.
