 Well black was my last ditch effort - I shot 20+ in white and 2 in green 5 in red and lastly 2 in black, the white was crap and I liked the black effect - kind of like a painting.

I light the whole scene with an office lamp at 45d and a tourch to illuminate the main orange tops.

Greetings from the Critique Club: The image meets the challenge, is well-lit (except for one area of the black background to the right of the fruit) and has nice texture. The simple bowl with a few dings is a nice choice, supporting the color of the oranges without taking away from them. The balance of the fruit in the bowl and with the bowl is very nice, good composition. The utter simplicity of the shot works in its favor, a very nice image.

They glow! I am feeling tempted by the thought of OJ so I guess that means the image is working for me! :o)

Elegant in it's simplicity. Great lighting. I do think that the background needs to be lit evenly though. The light spot behind the fruit is a little distracting.

Judging by your title, I assume you left the shutter open and used a flashlight or something moving over the orages as the shutter was open... fun technique, good for you. :-) Good pic.

Excellent! In general, I don't like still lifes. They are often too sterile for me, and I find them hard to do well. This one is great though. Certain to be a top 10...

It would have been a 8-9 if the spot had been focused on the orange slice. Having said that I still like this shot. :)

I like the composition and the light used. Personally I feel that the image could have benefited from more subject matter around and in front of the bowl. Maybe some orange slices or some nicely peeled peel. Or even some more kinds of fruit.
