 Shot indoors. Used two flashlights, black paper as background.

Origionally the picture did not turn out noisy. I added the noise later in photoshop because i thought it would help portray the message of this image. Perhaps i overdid it?

I get the impression you were going for a spotlight effect? That would probably work well with this subject, but the lighting you used seems a little harsh, perhaps if you diffused it some...? Another thing to consider is the ISO setting on your camera. There is a lot of noise in this photo when really there shouldn't be for this kind of setup. JMO of course. :D The subject you picked has potential as this pair of shoes has character. A little more attention to detail and your score would probably climb on this considerably. Anyway...best of luck to you in the challenge.
