You have a great idea here, just needs some polishing!
Not sure, did you use a flash here? If you did, try bouncing it off the ceiling or wall to soften the light a little or if you can get away with it don't use it at all.
If it's light from a window, try positioning yourself further from the wall to reduces harsh shadows, and use something, like a piece of white board or card, to reflect some of the light back on the opposite side. Take lots of shots in slightly different positions, the slightest change can sometimes make a big difference.
Sorry to go on, but I thought it might help out:) |

B/W was a good choice. Keeps the eyes from wondering all over the place. |

I was gonna say, if you were to remove the shadow next to your head and remove the bedsheet? on the bottom, I think you'd greatly improve this shot. It's good as it is, but could be even better. You'll get the hang of PS (or whatever your editing software is). Keep at it. Love the composition. |

I like your composition, especially the half person crop. B&W was a good choise, but perhaps a little more contrast would sharpen it up and bring out a little more of the blacks. |

I like half portraits. Maybe a tad lacking in contrast, but heh, it's a fun attempt. |

Kind of futuristic, penitentiary feeling thing goin' on here. |

Great crop! The best way to remove shadows is to aim another light into the shadows from the other side. That way, no post-processing of shadows should be necessary. |

Like the crop! B/W makes for interest instead of distraction w/too many colours. |
