good idea, just needs some photoshopping. curves adjustments for contrast, saturation adjustments to make the colors pop, and unsharpen mask to make it crisp

Focus is too soft, better lighting would have made for more interesting colors.

nice colors and composition but i would make the orange in focus as it's the color that grabs interest the first thing ..

Well you met the challenge but the soft focus really takes away from what you have here. Had it been sharp it may have scored better.
