My daughter Meredith with her doll "Baby Ruthie". She named it, honest!
taken with a 2 light set-up, key light 90 degrees to camera axis. All lighting set-up in manual mode. Only had about 5 shots before she packed it in!
Taken in Raw. Converted in PS, adjusting exposure, WB, and shadows. Added layers for Gaussian blur (to give it the soft look), then adjustment layers for sepia toning, reduce saturation, and slight warming. Resize, added border, saved for web.
Not sure this will score well, but I need the practice in portraiture. I think this is better than my last entry for B&W portrait. I hope people don't mistake the intentional softness for out of focus. |

| I love Meredith and Ruthie. 9. It's noticeable but I can forego the crease in the background as it does not really distract the photo. 'Hope to see this in the top 10 or in the ribbon area. |

| The soft focus isnt something I much care for but the image in general is nice with a very cute little girl. The lighting and colors work well. |
