| the pencils really stand out in the picture due to color and composition yet I can't clearly read the writing on them, this is really distracting to me. Love the colors and compostition. |

| Wow, at the clarity of the sushi. Makes me want to eat the stuff even less now. LOL. Great placement and excelent angle for this photo. Looks like a sushi ad. Lighting is great and I like how the foreground is crisp in focus and the background has a soft focus. I also like the adition of color on your part, with the placement of the objects in the background. Great job and good luck in the challenge. |

| Ilove the red pencils against the white, textured sushi. Very dynamic. The counter bothers me, but if it's what you have, it's what you have! the depth of field is great. Very very nice. |

Clever idea, but the texture of the rice is making me feel queasy. Which means you've photographed it really well and it's not fair for me to mark it down, but the appeal just isn't there.

| I like the bold colors, the shallow DOF, and the angle. Very cool. Only complaint might be that very bright spot of rice. Not sure if you could have somehow filtered the light to prevent it. |

| Nice DOF. Woul d be better if the focus was on the words toward the front and then faded out to the back instead of having the tight focus right in the middle. Nice shot! |

| I think it would look better without the text visible on the pencil. Also, you might want to increase the DOF a little so the whole piece of sushi is sharp. I like the blurred background, though. |
