Macro can be difficult, especially when shooting close to wide open. The DOF is so shallow that any slight movement (by the photographer or the subject) can throw the focus off.
Using a tripod will help as well as shooting when there is no breeze whatsoever (in the case of flowers).
The focus here doesn't seem to be accurate as no part of the flower seems to be in crisp focus. |

I love Macro Photography especially of flowers so this photo was right up my alley. Great shot, great color! |

as is, it's an ok image, but the softness doesn't really grab me. the composition is ok, but doesn't rock me. not sure why you wouldn't edit something, especially for a best of the year challenge. it's almost like you didn't care. |

Nice macro. Well lit although I would add just a bit for a more crisp feeling, but a good picture none the less. |

the centered comp is good, a little more contrast is needed. still a nice shot. |

Nice straight out of the camera. I think you might have been able to possibly sharpen it a little better, which I consider to still be somewhat straight out of the camera. Nice composition with the radiating lines toward the center. |

the point of focus isn't there...it's quite out of focus all round... |

Nice pattern though the center seems a bit soft on focus and the light is a little flat. A little sharpening and levels and/or curves could help to improve the contrast. |
