Yes that's right, sometimes your camera appears to have a mind of its own and focus on "only God knows what!" Be attentive!!

It's a Rebel thing..sometimes my XT does the same thing. It hunts...but the "auto focus set point" suggestion cures this. (Usually). What lovely statue of the Eiffel Tower! LOL!

I believe the camera will seek out the most appealing subject in the frame to focus on. ;-P Just kidding. ...maybe it is distracted by shiny objects? I have more theories, but most of them erroneous. :)

LOL! What I do is set the AF Point (if you camera has that feature). That way, it will focus on that area when you press the remote shutter.
