I would have liked to see at least a shadowed outline of the left eye. This way is too disturbing.

It's hard to discern anything of the character of this subject: it's so close up I cannot "read" anything from him. Half of his face is in complete darkness and the half that is lit, is so close up I can't see hair, or if his chin goes straight down into his neck or not...he's just half a frame of darkened skin at the moment. I understand that many like the extreme close up composition, so this is entirely subjective.

the lighting needs some work here. you should ba albe to see at least some of the second eye (as is more than now). a second light source would have been usefull here.
