NOTE: My picture WAS taken in the challenge time, but my camera didn't properly update the year on Jan 1 - oh well.

Yes, that's me and yes I have aluminum foil on my teeth. I can be gangsta. The camera was sitting on the cat tree. The brick wall is in my dining room.

I don't really think this picture is going to go over very well here, mostly because of the "starring" in the background and the fake-looking-ness of the bricks, but I kind of like it. I'm just waiting for the requests for validation to roll in. The truth is, I have no idea what created that starring... I used the filter on my camera that creates stars over points of light, hoping to get one on my "grillz"... I did, but they were even brighter on the brick wall behind me. No idea why. I even stepped it down 2 steps to try to control over-exposure. Maybe there's quartz in the brick or maybe the brick was just really bright for some reason. In most of the pictures the stars completely covered my face, but this one was mostly okay.

Editing: crop, selected the background and burned and gaussian blurred it, convert to B&W, smudged around my head b/c the line was really obvious, smudged some of the stars a bit b/c they were pixillated, increase contrast and played w/ levels, misc little spot editings (nothing major), resize, sharpen, very light run through neatimage... I think that's it.

Funny as hell :)

I thought about doing something similar, but experience here taught me that this DPC crowd lacks exposure and are at times quick to put their ignorance on display.

Hence! your long detailed explanation of course.

This ignorance is clearly on display by 1 commentor that thinks your title was the actual song title.

Too bad about the date thing. I on the other hand detest so called grills & bling, but I think I know a good photo when i see 1. And I like this 1, great job.

Wow, it is interesting to read your photographer's comments - thanks for including them! It is neat to see how you were able to get the effects. Even though I didn't personally care for them, I like the fact that you were able to capture something interesting like this.

ribbon for the longest title - and is that really the title of a song?

grimace may be cool in some circles, but doesn't work for me - harsh specular "stars" are too overpowering for me too.

this is an absolute pisser

Not too sure I like the harsh "light" effects but I do love the model's expression.
