Did I ever mention that I thought that this was a drop dead gorgeous image?
IMO that is SO close to a blue ribbon winner that it makes my skin itch!
Bring on the flutes and clarinets ... It will work SO well with that treatment. Saxophones ... even better.

Wow! What a pretty face! Could do without the violin though. ;-) j/k - it's really an awesome portrait. Congrats on a top ten and a PB! |

Congratulations Joe on your PB and on a fantastic finish in a really tough challenge. The violin helped, but don't sell yourself short, you did a wonderful job technially, and more importantly bringing out the real qualities of your model. Great job!

You probably have no idea about how thrilled I am to get so high up in this Challenge.
It means a lot to me personally, as I relly tried to step outside of my box, and I think the inclusion of the Violin really helped to provoke peoples thoughts.
Really pleased with all of the comments.
Cheers.

For what it's worth, I'd prefer to see (at this website) a pretty face with 'accessories' like you have chosen to photograph for this challenge. I wondered why the photograph that won the blue ribbon did so well. I gave it a 9 because it was, after all, a good photo but then I looked again and said 'Ohh..those are why' I gave your photo a 10 and hope you keep trying new dimentions like this...thanks. |

For me you lived up to your own set challenge, her skin and eyes look very natural. Good scoring a 10, but i liked this one even better (top 5). |

technically near perfect, I will probably never reach this level. Still, I see nothing appealing in the picture. It's dull and lacks emotion. (6) |

Very nice lighting. Lovely B&W treatment. Love the angled pose and the way the lines lead up to and frame her face. Oh, and beautiful model too.
Edit to add: My pick for top 5. |

Love the idea of the portrait of the girl with her instrument. Great tones in this image, I just wish you had gotten the end of the violin in the shot. |

Nice, professional portrait. Good studio lighting and I like the seriousness of her expression. Good reflection on the violin too. Best of luck in the challenge. 10 |

I always vote fellow violinists up, even if they are only the models and not the photog. Nice crisp shot! |
