My wife's beautiful eyes. She truly makes taking great portraits that much easier.

I snapped 115 images of her over an hour on Sunday evening; for our debut on DPChallenge in this B&W Portrait challenge. All of the images were lovely, as usual, and it took several hours to choose "These Eyes" for submission.

Well, I don't really like the fact the light is very bright right on her nose, but everything else is beautiful! I love the details, and the shallow DOF.

great use of shallow dof here. excellent work. my only nit is that you might think about blurring the pores in the cheek a little bit to put all of the focus on the eye.

would have preferred more control of the depth of field to either focus both eyes, or to focus on just one with a smaller dof.

Nice crop.

I think the photo would be stronger if both eyes were in focus

Both eyes must be focused otherwise too jarring. Not a portrait. Good picture otherwise. 5

are out of focus

I looks like you may have used a blur tool on the left eye, perhaps to make an unintentional blue from the camera appear more intentional. Focus is definitely drawn to the right eye, and I suspect that's what you were going for. But I'm not convinced that it's working for this composition. Have you considered simply cropping the left eye out entirely, generating a more rectanglar composition that ends at the nose bridge?

Unfortunately the texture of the skin is not good

To make this work you could have added some Blur and rubbed through as it would get away from the distraction of the Skin spoures, and it would have made a better impression with the eyes.

ahahaha when i first glanced at the title i thought it said "three eyes"... i was searching for the 3rd! :)

nicely done. i like the freckles!

would have been a stronger image with both eyes in focus. I like the tight crop though.
