Reminds me of my Grandpa's hands. Thought provoking picture. Fine job!

I think this "time" piece would be better illustrated in black and white. Nice shot tho!

This is very good. The detail is excellent, lighting is perfect, DOF is great, and the arrangement does a nice job of storytelling. (10)

very nostalgic. reminds me of my grandfather. He had these non-round pencils, so they wouldn't fit a pencil-sharpener. He worked in construction. thanks

Those are fantastic hands, they'd make a great study in their own right, with nothing else, just them on a really plain background. Like this, would like to see it with the wooden plan at more of a diagonal angle from top right to bottom left.

Very nostalgic. Good subject

Technically unfaultable – I think. It's a great shot, not cluttered and really well composed. The hands look old; but, they also look dependable, hardworking and experienced - like they could do a good jobâ€Â¦ (10)

Looks like a lot of work to sharpen that pencil. He seems up to to task. I really like this picture, especially the composition. 8.

i'm thinking the old hands need to be a bit further into the shot. good idea tho.

Great idea and an art not everyone can do anymore. Wish you'd of been closer to the hands..focused on them and less of the distracting background objects. Nice work all the same. Score 7 ~Kee

My grandpa used to sharpen his pencils with a pocket knife. I like this photo a lot. Not afraid to tell you it's 1 of 6 10's this week. The lighting is great, angle is beautiful and it gives a high emotional impact for me as well as pleasing to look at. I could hang this on my wall. Great shot and good luck with the challenge.

I would have liked to have see more of the hands, less of the wood. 7
