 Nick Lachey – What’s Left of Me

Dylan is my wife’s nephew who is staying with us during the school break. When this challenge came up was not inspired at first, but started playing the songs over a few days’s and decided that if Dylan was the model, we could come up with a photo.

stuck in the SHADOW of my mistakes
I'm HALF the man I thought I would be
But you can have what's left of me

If you don’t know the song, you won’t understand the photo,
And that would be a shame.

I don't know the song which probably makes it harder to see what you were after until I read the description. That said, after reading your description, or more importantly the lyrics, you definitely achieved what you set out to do.

This website is teaching me about "cropping" options, ideas that I'd never have tried before. With this image, I could see a crop just above his brow, as is, with the sky the at the top it's like the head is forced in the shot.

Doesn't seem to tie into the title at all (unless that is in fact Nick Lachey...). And other than that, it's just a bland portrait with flat lighting.

I don't know the song but I don't see how this fits. Maybe if you were 40 years older...
