Listen again. One Evening at the Close
Of Ramazán, ere the better Moon arose,
In that old Potter's Shop I stood alone
With the clay Population round in Rows.
And, strange to tell, among the Earthen Lot
Some could articulate, while others not:
And suddenly one more impatient cried --
'Who is the Potter, pray, and who the Pot?'
(Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám)
I had intended to sit more still, but the cat disturbed me. I sort of chose the shot for the smile he brought forth.
Thanks for commenting, all. |

I thought this was pretty cool and voted it fairly high. I was wondering though, who is the shadow and who is the former self? The four eyes on the cat definitely add interest. |

From a personal preference position, I don't care for the motion blur or the cropping/missed portion of the head. The cat definitely adds to the composition, I like the sparkle in the eyes.....it's a pleasing all 'round composition.....good light and shadows. |

Blur doesn't bother me in this. I thought the kitty added a spooky and interesting quality to the photograph. |

This is a nice shot but a little blurry. If the person was a bit sharper, this would be very nice. especially with the cat moving. |

Is this you? This is a way cool shot. I have that same problem with cats getting in the way, but I figure they're there for a reason. Besides, adds an interesting touch to this. I quite like it, actually. Quite like it a lot. |

A very nice use of a longer-than-normal exposure. There is an interesting idea I learned from another photographer: he remarked that, since the invention of more sensitive film, all portraits are being photographed at exposures of 1/60s and faster, whereas before that, photographs were shot at much longer exposures. This way technology changed the way photo portraits are made. That photographer has a number of portraits photographed at exposure times of 1/2s and longer, with an interesting effect. The slight movements of the models add a unique degree of softness to the pictures, just like can be seen here, in the model's face.
In this photograph I don't like the blown white background, and the cat didn't quite turn out great IMO. But I'm giving this an 8 for the experiment. |

This would have been a great picture if the cat had moved and the guy hadn't. But the guy moved. (3) |

Spooky. If only the focus was a TAD sharper on the human ... - 7 |

Which one moved during this shot? The photographer, or did the cat dig claws in???? *grin* Focus is not great. |

Image seems OOF for no aparent benifit. May have been intentional reading the title but just seems to not work well that way. |

I like the idea, but I think the motion blur hurts it. If it was sharper this would be up there. |

this is a good shot but could have been that much better had it been sharp!....or maybe i lack imagination. also, there is some weird processing residue in his eyes which is a little distracting. |
