It is a self-portraiture as you all might have guessed already. I used two sources of light on this shot. One big panel in front and an sb800 in the back giving some nice highlight on the hair and around the body. There was too much of negative space on the original shot so I cropped it real tight to bring out the eyes and the expression. In the end its a portait challenge. I wasn't so sure about the pose(which is no surprise since its kinda complicated shooting yourself when you have no assistance) so I think the tighter cropped made it also work out well. Still I'd like to hear some ideas about the light, the crop and the colors. And maybe the model too.. LoL.. just kiddin..

Thank you very much Lori. In the original size you could see almost every single pore, so too much smoothness is I guess due to resizing. But I will consider your critique and find a solution for this. Also thanks for cheking out my website. That photo is also one of my many self-portraits.

Nice shot Eren, but you cloned out all the naturally occuring pores around the nose/cheeks which tends to look artificial especially for men. Otherwise cool, I like your expression...makes me wonder what you were going to say :-)

P.S. excellent shot of you on your website

Great B&W tones and a good capture of your (expressive) eyes.

I like your choice of framing for this shot. It very much adds drama. I will definetly being stealing this idea :) nice shot

Skin is just a bit too "plastsized" for me, otherwise really good, 6

I like the framing. I think the face is a little too PP'd/overexposeed, though. Also, would have liked to have seen more of your hair.

Love the composition and light, but the pic false apart with the edit. The skin looks plastic..and unreal. The lips are not very masculine. So for me a zeven.

Nice job! Self portraits are hard to get really crisp and sharp, but you have done an excellent job -- and you would have had a hard time finding a more handsome model :) Good luck! One of the strongest ones in this challenge in my opinion!

I'm sure all the girls will give you high score, so I'll give you a low one to compensate :D (just kidding)

Very, very nice shot. I like the way it's framed/composed. Great range of black and white. As I tell another friend who shoots baseball photos- "tack sharp". Superior image and I gave you a '10' and hope to see this finish in the top three. Congrats!

looks over retouched, but the lines on the forehead really stand out since the rest of the skin looks fake. The key to retouching is that it should be subtle. This is not. I don't love the facial expression either, but I do recognize that the quality of the photo is lovely and the framing is wonderful. I wish people would not go so overboard with the clone and bandaid tool. If it was not done in photoshop was it neat image? Anyhow next time ease up a bit, people don't have perfect skin. 6

Nice lighting and good quality B&W treatment. I like the upward look and angled pose as well.
