Conveys the feeling of the need for getting in, I can almost feel my hands on the fence. The strong contrast helps this a lot, as does the vignetting.

I think this is a great black and white regardless of the subject. I tend to like high contrast photos like this. I cannot seem to get my blacks blacks and my whites white as well as you have here.
