Nice study in shallow DOF but I'm not sure that that is the purpose of the form Still Life... This would be much more interesting with more in focus and with more interesting lighting to bring out the 'textures' of the keyboard. THe splotchy background past the moniter is not attractive...

I'll tell you the only reason I gave this a 7: the lighting. Sure, it's a bold perspective, it uses good focus techniques, even good design principles. It's a very cliched perspective though. But the lighting, the personalities of the colors, blend together so that this picture gives you not only a sense of what your subject is, but in what setting your subject might be located. |

usually when you are trying to create some kind of landscape as in this photograph, it's important to have the focus begin in the front of the frame. |

i like the keys, the background DOF is not great enought to cover up the busy back ground which is distracting and takes awa from the lines of the keys. |

I think a larger depth of field would work here. Nice concept. |
