great fulfillment of the challenge. this would have been a high scorer from me. I might even have filled in that 9 gap for you. I personally love realizing that a door is part of the composition. I think it's a lovely surprise.

I gave this a 7 because I like the rich browns, the pattern of the cross and the "button" in the center. I think it needs to be rotated ever so slightly counter-clockwise, perhaps .5 degrees. That bothers me. Also I agree with Bob that the door is a problem. I don't mind the recessed area and shadow, but the door handle spoils the simplicity of the composition.

This is very nicely centered but I think the door hurts it. If the background was all white, this would be a very nice shot.

The door ruins it, and the subject just doesn't do it for me

The door is a little distracting for me. Nice shot otherwise though.

That door is very distracting, the metal handle takes away from its wooden nature. The picture to me is very boring.

Really great idea. Too bad about the door in the background. If a narrower DOF was possible you could blur it. I also understand that getting rid of the door isn't possible and trying to get the cross and the hat would potentially rule out a blur effect.

Anyways enough rambling...7
