I have worked on several versions of this...was driving home and had to stop and turn around.
The ground is not level, but if I straightened it the barn roof would be askew...I know this will come up.
Duplicate layers, history brush various opacities, curves a few times, dodge and burn, a tiny bit of clonig, slight desat., added border.

great contrast, i like how the sun shines through the opening in the barn and almost seems inviting... almost.

to my mind this does not bring stillness, rather opression or fear or some evil lurking around the corner. Menance is the word I'm looking for. I think it's the combination of dark skyes, dark foreground and the dark house. The pattern in the foreground leads you to the dark house, not to the bright sun.

A bit too intense around the sun, but overall very good. There are several things that really make me like this. First is the leading lines in the fields and how they are oriented toward the barn. The second is the light that can be seen coming through the barn doors, and finally, the low clouds and snow, which break up the darkness just right. Well done! 8

A tonal six for this image

Very strong and moody presentation. It evokes many different emotions at once; fear, awe, hope, stillness, action, fear again. Nice.

A little overprocessed....

The colors are wonderful here. The complementary orange really makes the blue line of the field stand out.

Some might think the processing is over the top, but I think it adds to this exciting image. I think it might have just been a barn photo without the stunning contrast.

Lovely leading line and intensity of tone and texture. One of the best. 8

Very close to my top pick, probably needs less sky and more field to gain that extra point

if you were to crop out the burnt out sun area and just leave the barn, silo and sunset colored sky with clouds. it might make it a stronger image. the sun spot distracts me from the barn to the right.
