| Good for you! You're right, great pics come when you least expect them. Not from sitting on the couch. I myself would've darkened the pic some to bring out the reds and oranges on the ground, and also to add a little green to the leaves on the trees. But what do I know, you won 1st place. Congrats! |

How I found it ? Well, sometimes you just get lucky. I was hunting for autumn pictures, walking around in a deerpark (got some lovely deer shots as well), which consists of some open fields and some more dense wood areas. Often too messy for a picture, with no clear structure to make a strong composition, until I got across this more open wood area with the light shining through the leaves and the branches overhead. I immediately saw the opportunity. I especially like the colors and the depth in this picture.
But it shows again : you only stumble across it, if you are out there, not if you stay at home ! |

| I like this pic. It does have a few issues with the strong highlights on the trunks in the center grouping, but the light is what makes this photo. That and the way the branches from this tree stretch out across the frame. Quite lovely, and graceful. |

I can see why one would choose this title. With a quietly rioting capture like this, I'd consider a more subtle one, perhaps, to leave much to the viewer (?). The latent message of this image strikes me as pervasively universal, one not requiring a messenger at all.
The gracious aspect, to me, is strongly emphasized by the branches draping so wide across what appers to be a plateau or bluff, which bowers an obscured roadway.
The light, too, is splendid. A great natural spectacle without flaw or articfice. |

Great scene and composition of it.
Would do great as wallpaper on a real live wall. :)
Good exposure and colors, saturation is nice, wonder about how it looks when the saturation is pushed a bit further. |

| Lovely soft colours - IMO the Grace would have been stronger if the foreground was cropped close to the base of the first tree. As it is my eye keeps falling off the branches. 7 |

| Beautiful colours and light. The curving shapes remind me very much of a forest I used to play in during childhood and even of a favourite photograph taken when I received my first SLR camera aged about 11 or 12. I wish I could find the negative! The dark line of the curved bows above and the foremost trunk at the left create a beautiful framing and the unbroken carpet of leaves feels very peaceful. |
