Thanks guys and gals for all the comments. I've learned allot from this event. Looking back I realize now that my ISO (400) was way too high. It was on a tripod with a timer. Obviously, my main issues were focus and graininess. I will try to do better next time. BTW, the camera is my new Kodak Easyshare z612. I don't believe it is at fault here. But who knows. Also, another thing that I have come to realize is that different monitors can make the image look much different. I have an old CRT with lots of deep black levels. The picture seems to look pretty good there. I also have an LCD at work with reveals a few more blemishes. Another friend of mine has an old IMac. I'm not completely sure why, but the picture looks terrible on his monitor. Anyway, I still have allot to learn.
Thanks again for all your critiques. :-) |

You've done well with the agreement between the photo and its title. But poor image quality hurts it. I'm sure that whatever camera you've used, you could lower the ISO to help with the noise, using a tripod or something to hold it steady. |

A lot of artifacts in this one, which is why it scored low with me. Otherwise, a pretty ordinary composition, which may be fine for portraits, but for art it just gets old. |

I love the slight grain to this. It has that interesting grungy effect -- making even batteries look cool :) |

Interesting composition, but IMO the out of focus fg is quite annoying.
You have also a lot of noise that is really distracting (at the first glance I was more concerned of the noise than of the shot). |

It seems pretty grainy to me...but I like the perspective. |

The grainy image turned me off at first, but was interesting enough for me to give it a second look. I'll say now that I don't think it's a bad thing, and a lot of little detail seems packed into this image. I feel like it will be underrated in the challenge, though. Good luck. |

This shot is grainy and needs more focus, but your lighting is good. |

Too grainy for me and not sharp enough. Interesting dof. |
