I love birds, and they are exceptionally difficult to photograph. I like the shot and the interest the bird showed in the camera. Your pet? I'd have liked to see the eye. Nice try though. Keep it up. |

You may have noticed that almost the entire face of your subject is hidden by bars and the like. My suggestion in future situations, place a small mirror in the photo to permit viewing of the subject.
The date stamp, while informative, does not add to the artistic quality of the photo. My suggestion, provide a calender or other date/time indicating device in the background of the photo if this information is crucial.
On a positive note, your subject seems to have a good attitude. |

'rook you are on your way to fast becoming a cult favorite here at dpc!
I love the fact that they dq'd the photo because you took it before the challenge started & because the evidence for such was plastered across the bottom right of your submission! They could have used the very fact that you have the date there as a reason but I'm so glad they pursued the path of irony...
Keep it up, mate - I'll be watching for your shots each challenge! |

Get rid of that date, and work on improving the exposure. this is too pale. If you take it into the editing software that came with the camera, even the auto adjustment would vastly improve this. |

This must be your first entry, sorry you will not score high with this shot, hope you are willing to learn from mistakes. First turn off the date, then try to focus better on your subject, trying to catch the eyes of the bird would have been very nice...good luck! |

The idea is not at all wrong, but for starters the date tag is very distracting. I suggest you configure your camera so it won't show, as it really detracts from the picture; remember that with the Exif Data you can always know the date and time details without them necessary showing on your shot.
Other thing is contrast and sharpness, your shot lacks of these two aspects. |

I think it would draw me in more if I could see more of the patter of the cage. The photo also seems foggy |

The contrast is way too low. Turn the date feature off before taking photographs for a challange. |
