 Here's a little brown-on-brown. This is actually one of the sharpest macros I've ever taken if viewed at 100%. Wish the lighting was a bit better, but I'm still proud of this one.

Thanks for all the comments guys, making 4th is a really big step for me, since I'm used to placing like 40th :)

About the border...lately I've been playing around with borders and this one was no different. It may have looked better if it had a title or something underneath it to give the border a "purpose," but otherwise maybe I shouldn't have included it. It might have cost me a ribbon...heh, oh well I'm still extremely happy with my placement.

Great photo with an excellent finish. I do wonder how this would have placed without the thick border. That tends to hurt more than it helps.

wonderful detail, but my eyes are drawn to the burgandy eyes instead of the brown, but so well done should have been higher but still deserves ~8

This picture is amazing! Nice work. If I could change just one thing it would be the piece of bark in the lower left corner. It is just a bit distracting.

The thick border detracts from the image. I am also not really seeing brown as a focus so much as just another color amongst others.
