Being the owner of an equally enthusiastic canine, I know how hard this shot was to get. The focus is superb for the light you had available. 9 |

When I first laid eyes on this image I had to laugh...there's just something about pictures of running dogs that make me laugh. That being said, they are very graceful when they run, so I completely understand your subject matter here.
I like the composition of this shot, the fact that we're looking down the trail towards the dog...while he's running towards us. The trees at the right do a fine job of stabalizing the image with strong verticals.
In my opinion this image could be improved by the following:
1. I assume this was shot on the side of a hill, hence the clockwise tilt. If it wasn't shot on a hill, I would suggest leveling the horizon (or straightening up the trees) with a counter clockwise tilt in Photoshop.
2. I would suggest cropping out the top 3rd of the image, it really isn't integral to the image and simply gives us more to look at when we should be focusing on the dog.
3. Possibly cropping the right side a bit, just up to the first tree. I don't feel a person needs to see the water and leaves on the right side of the trees.
4. I wonder how this would look with a touch more saturation? The leaves appear to be a wonderful yellow and tan...
I hope this helps,

This dog does not look too graceful to me..( I think it is in the square boxy look of the shoulders :) I think I would be scared if that dog was running toward me. Seriously, it might be better if the image did not seem to slant to the right. |

Is the dog's name Grace by any chance? If not I can't see the relevance! Nice shot tho :-) |
