From Anchorage to Shanghai, overtaking a Cathay 747-400 going to Hong Kong (CX087?) Maybe some will say there are more clouds than sky, but I still say the sky is a "major element" of the picture. Also, clouds are generally linked to the sky. We are close to the date line, so I can not say for sure whether the local date is the 11th or 12th! Both are within the challenge frame, so ...

Post challenge:
As this was new editing rules, I was worried this shot would be all the way at the bottom, but in the top 50% is fine with me!
Some of the comments amuse me, I will post the original picture (only crop and resize), so you can see that
1. The sky is actually BLUE, not grey
2. These are CONTRAILS (water vapour that stays for a while)
3. I have not used a pen tool, sorry, this is what it looks like for REAL
You might wonder why there are TWO lines of contrails from a FOUR engine aircraft, but they are mixed together by the wake turbulence, originating from the wingtips.
For some really funny reading about paranoid people, look up chemtrails on google. |

Ah, now I get it. That's a contrail, not a light trail. :) |

B74A? I'm trying to figure out how you got the long trail, since you would've been moving about the same direction. Did you shoot out the side window? |

Awesome image, well done. Where were you to take it? In a hot air baloon or something...lol
Good job! |

I think that this would have been amazing without the white streaks from the plane ... were those added in PP? |

Could've done better without the trail, IMO. And a little less blue. Otherwise that is a great "above the clouds" shot! |
