Guess I'm just not artsy enough. |
Sad that you really don't see a difference, but to each their own, I guess.
Thanks to everybody for all the comments, even negative ones (so long as there's a point; "could do better" isn't really helpful, whereas "don't like the contrast, maybe you should've..." is). Thanks again for my first ribbon! Very exciting! |

I really like this shot. The contrast is excellent and it's very eye catching. I would have thought that changing the color of the pepper like that would be pushing the major elements rule a little too far (though I haven't had time to properly review the new rules), but if it's not, then that's good to know for future challenges :-). Congrats!

Very clever to have changed the odd pepper to green. I would never have thought of that. That's the difference between a good photographer and an artist and ribbon winner. BTW, I do not agree with those comments that said the color and exposure aren't right. They look perfect on my monitor. Congratulations on your well deserved blue! |

I love the idea but the green pepper seems a little contrived, even though it was probably just as you saw it. Too bad the rest of the mound would have fallen if you'd tried to "stuff that pepper" in amongst the yellow ones. ;-) |

Good composition, but the exposure isn't quite right, and the peppers need a boost in editing - perhaps a bit of levels and contrast adjustments. |

Love the peppers - just think of the work that goes into piling these guys up. Would have skipped the baskets and made the odd pepper out the center of attention. Give it 8, though. |

Great Capture, very relevant to the theme, and I like the crop. Only nitpick is that the green pepper is side facing, whereas just about all the others are top facing. But nice spot otherwise. |

Nice image. I think because it is so much about shape and color that I would either make the baskets a straight line or an obvious diagonal. When it's just a little off it feels like it wasn't being considered. Of course, I'm very OCD about these kinds of things. ; )
What a great visual moment to catch! |

Poor little green pepper...I would love to see this bigger although I think you did right with the 640x333 composition. It looks like the peppers on the left are more in focus than the ones on the right? Great pattern. |

Excellent! I love this. This has print/stock sales written all over it. The title works great (made me search for the Odd item). This has nice tones to it and the repeating pattern is outstanding. Other variations were taken as well I hope? All peppers (no baskets) or some tight shots to fill a frame with peppers of one color/two colors? Wonderful find and a very nice job of capturing this photo. Congrats! |

OK, I've only looked at about 30 thumbs and I don't even know if he's in it, but I gotta say this looks like Bear. Tone mapping and peppers, if that isn't his calling card, I don't know what else is. (no vote yet) |
