Thanks everyone for all the great comments. I can confirm that yes - this snake is my pet. One of 17 snakes now that I currently own. She is a charcoal cornsnake. And you think cats are hard to get posed...try a snake. They don't have ears so you can call them and get them to look at you...LOL!
This girl is still a baby, although a little bit bigger than most of my other baby cornsnakes so one of the easier ones to photograph. I too wish the focus on her head was a little tighter, but c'est la vie.

Pet or Horseshoe, pet or horseshoe. . .I'll go with pet (benefit of the doubt). |

4 - Benefit of the doubt. Like the composition, 640 (width), sharper focus on the eyes/head and less frame, make this better in my opinion. |

Looks like it should be on the cover of a snake book! I would love to have the back end of the snake in focus too, if that could be done without damaging the oof leaves in the back. |

Hell of a pet, love the shot and the border adds a lot to it. Nice work. Great colors and contrast. |

i love snakes, though i don't like them as pets, because i think, the belong to their natural environment, as it seems to be here.
so i'm struggling between giving it a low score for not beeing a pet photo and giving a higher score for loving the shot for its quality and subject...*deep thinking*...ok those cute eyes convinced me of giving it a 7...;) |

I love this, but the focus isn't quite right, it seems to be on the body and not the head...I think the black frame is good for this... |
