Challenge: Shadows II (Classic Editing)
Camera: Olympus E-20P
Location: Home (again) - must venture outside ;)
Date: Oct 23, 2003
Aperture: 2.2
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/30
Galleries: Macro, Advertisement
Date Uploaded: Oct 23, 2003

Taken on orange card, with an office light at the base of a wine bottle. Took 200 shots to get one I liked (also one of the only sharp ones)

The wine in the bottle was white, and the wine in the glass is red.

PS work involved a bit of saturation, a nudge of hues and a major level adjustment.

I like the colors and curves. The angle is a little disorienting -- I wonder how it would look if the glass was blurred more to make the whole thing even more abstract.

I love the color flow, the yellow (light) line breaks it up a bit 8

I love the colors of this. I'm looking for the place where this is focused, but it seems its just a fuzz off. Great concept and I love the warmth of the colors here.

this is stunning, love the colours .... only one wee point is the orange bit on the lip of the glass

Very mellow, very pastel. The orange and violets work very harmoniosly together. The light and shadow mix is spot on, no blow outs at all. Pity about the two white spots on the wine glass though (9)

Beautifully soft photo. The colors are fanstanstic, the camera angle, the smooth tones...it all makes for a fanstastic picture and among the best in this challenge.

Interesting. The purple reminds me of concord grapes and the orange is warm and they compliment each other. The two orange wings and the person(?) in the reflection are distracting. I like the dof for the glass but feel the bottle should be sharper. The composition feels to crowded towards the top. It feels like the glass is about to fall over. An intriguing image!

8. The colors work really well. My preference is for glass rims and bases to be very sharply focused. I like border treatments.

Very well done. When I first looked at this shot I had a splitting headache and it took me a few minutes to see what it was. Now that I can see it clearly, I enjoy it very much. The setup, lighting, colors and focus all work together very well.
