post-challenge: I'm amazed by how many people liked this, as it was doomed and I knew it. It was a last minute throw-in, with me collapsing in the kitchen in the dark repeatedly to figure out how to do a double exposure without the ability to cover the lenscap. The hollowed eye effect is nothing more complicated than some black eyeshadow.

To those who complained bitterly about the soft focus, well, we can always point to Henri Cartier-Bresson who said, "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." ;-)

I like the dreaminess of your take on this. The soft focus really works for me. I also like how her eyes are so dark as to look like empty sockets, emphasizes "death" rather than a nap. Hope this scores well! 8

Reminds me of some of my "haunted living room" series. (see portfolio if you want to take a look) I love the way you've done this, especially with the hollow looking eyes. I love how it's not a "perfect" double image.. does that make sense? Instead of having the face at the top be completely detailed, it is featureless and spirit-like. Lack of perfect focus as well as choice of grayscale also add to the mood.

This is one of the best double exposures in this challenge. The dead version has black holes for eyes and the spirit version almost disappears in the noisiness of the picture. 8

Very imaginative and nicely captured. I must admit, at first glance, the soft focus was a bit of a turn-off, but once I noticed the 'spirit' rising from the body, it worked. It added to the dreaminess and mysticism of the image. Tough shot to make with basic editing rules but I think you've faired quite well! 8o)

"A" for effort and idea. "C-" for achievement. This is really hard to do with one exposure. The point comes across, but the body is washed out.
