I personally find the face the most graceful aspect of a sleeping person, the closed eyes and the face without expession. You have chosen the arm. O.k. your choice. The angle and composition puzzles me, it makes me look twice how this person is lying and how the arms are bent, it takes my attention away from what you want to express. |

Too grainy for my taste. I also think that I would have liked this better in black and white. |

Arms and hands are very graceful. These have a lovely bend, creating a semicircle. So you did hit the challenge right on. If I could offer some suggestions as to how to improve this image. The first thing is to get rid of the distracting blocks of darkness at the top. When you have a lovely subject, sometimes less is more. If you used digital zoom, don't. It introduces too much noise and that makes the image look soft. See all those squigly patterns? It's your camera trying to create details it can't actually see.
I hope I didn't offend you. Your eye is good, just need a little more experience. |

I like the way she holds her hand, but... This photo is very noisy... |

Interesting choice of subject. If I had just zipped through the voting I probably wouldn't have picked up on the graceful curve of (I'm assuming it's a her) her wrist.
I'm not entirely sure if the low key does it for me, but I will say that it sets a particular mood for the image...one of "asleep".
The composition is fairly interesting if not lacking a bit for dynamics...but then again, she's asleep...how dynamic is that? LOL
Overall, I like this image, nice interpretation of the theme!
Oh and BTW, I don't feel the grain hurts this image one bit. |
