This is a Hibiscus flower that I plucked and laid in my pool allowing it to float freely. I enhanced the contrast slightly, and did some color saturation, then added a drop shadow frame.

Great macro.Focus good. I don't know that the border adds to it but neither does it take away. Over all like the photo. Just not a first place excitement.

The colors are very vivid, which I like. Nice lighting. The subject however I find a little unappealing. It seems like the flower is wilted or something. Maybe that's the effect of the water. Also, I think a larger expanse of blue with the flower floating in a corner or even in the middle would amplify the alone/solitary feeling more. The close crop diminishes that feeling for me. 4

Because your subject fills the frame, the impression I get is that it's only "alone" because you have cropped off it's neighbours. It's a nicely executed image otherwise.

it is beautiful indeed but it feels more singular than solitary

Nice color combination pink and blue. A little too tightly cropped somehow and the border doesn't do this justice. I would have gone for a simple white border without the drop shadow.

Beautiful shot, wonderful lighting, the color selection of your subject works great with the blue background.
