The thing I find most interesting about this (other than Bucket's comment, which is a story unto itself) is the fact it exists somewhere. That there's a store somewhere - undoubtedly a small one - where customers' pictures hang next to the TicTacs. Very smalltownish in a very non-smalltownish world. |

actually, there is no mirror. it's just another photograph. and this is a rather severe crop, so I could have zoomed out. thanks for the wonderful comments! |

Don,
One thing about your photos- they aren't boring. Look at that score from commenters! Obviously you speak to people.
This is a photo that works as an overall package, but could be a bit stronger with a slightly different crop or lighting. IMO the graininess really works and adds to the feel - wouldn't be as strong without it.
Great title, too. |

very cool...I kinda wish you had stepped back half a step..or zoomed out...choices...just to allow us to see the whole tick tack boxes and the rest of the frames of these people...but then again, it would have made it all neat and tidy, and this isn't what this is about...
now the woman in that mirror-that is what really defines this shot and you...understanding that putting this mish mash of images together is not simply some random grouping but that each comments on the other...looking at this you offer us the viewer(s) a chance to see the things we look past, that there is a whole world happening in the corner store...and it is confusing, chaotic...the camera doesn't always have to refine and purify...busy backgrounds, imperfections..they all are a part of the world...all that and the fact the white tick tacks are sitting up top...a strange integration, the melting pot divided...all I could hope for would be to see your thumb! |

your images always "speak" to me. I'm amazed at how many times I stop at your image to contemplate and comment in a challenge.
Thank you for being different - for challenging me in a field of pretty shiny photos - |

This must be the shot that inspired the topic for the current challenge "For Sale". |

Totally perverse. I need treatment. I gave this a 9 in the challenge. It reminds me of the moment before the riot. |
